I was just thinking today that if someone said I would be where I am today a couple of years ago, I would have laughed at them. In 2004 after my separation and divorce life picked up for me and it's been a fun and fantastic roller-coaster ride since then. I have gone more places, seen more things, tried new things and found a great deal of joy along the way.
I've met like-minded people, and a few who aren't, and gathered up a few possessions I've been wanting.
But, with all the excitement going on I found the time to run slam into probably the best woman I've ever met. Edith. It took me 6 months to get up the guts to ask this chick out! And this month marks our first year together.
Actually June marked it but by this time last year we were having a blast, and the launch pad is still smoking. LOL
First of all Edith is a fine cook, which is essential for me because I like to eat. She can go to a empty cupboard and whip up something fantastic. She is fun to be around and talk to and a great travel companion. She is creative and witty, spontaneous and fun.
We have completely different tastes in TV shows. She likes CSI and Law & Order programs, I like Sci-fi. She's Mexican so she watches Mexican television which I don't get at all. She had never seen Star Wars!!! Imagine that! So, a few weeks ago we rented all of the movies and she got a Star Wars education. LOL It was fun and she loved it. I'm not even a huge Star Wars fan but I figured no one on the planet hadn't seen them. OK, she had seen one when she was about 9.

She is learning to ride, watching my shows and we have a good time. I am learning some Spanish, and about her culture and even how to whip up something from an empty cupboard. Sometimes.
We spent Christmas in a cabin in the woods and are now planning our next Christmas. We went to Oklahoma and camping. We moved in here together and we are building my (our) video studio here in one of the rooms in the house. This weekend she painted my green-screen wall for me. Hey, I can paint but it might not look as good when I'm done.
There our thousands of little things, too much to mention here that make her a keeper. Oh, did I mention she's beautiful too?
So I guess with this blog I'm counting my blessings. Not everyone is happy and I can truly say I'm happy. Sure there are issues I deal with like the pain in my legs and doctors and work, but all-in-all, I'm happy. Partly because of Edith and partly because I like where I am now.
Here's to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. I ride to be free and am free to ride.
I wonder where I'll be next year?
